Welcome
This site is dedicated to the owners of the Kawasaki Vulcan 2000
affectionately called a Rogue.
This site was started after a conversation between
Kevin 'Fergy' Ferguson and Butch
'B-Man' Wise in early 2004. It started out as simply a place for the
few of us that owned a Rogue
to post messages about problems and resolutions to those problems; a "Bug List"
so to speak. As we talked further, we decided to make a membership offshoot of
VROC called the Rogue Owners Group with a mailing list, newsgroup, and website.
This is what you see today.
The Rogue Owners Group website, newsgroup, mailing list,
hardware, and Internet connection is privately funded, developed, and supported
by Kevin 'Fergy' Ferguson. If
you have any questions, comments, or want to report abuse, please feel free to
contact me.
Below, you'll find information about how to join the Rogue Owners
Group, get some answers to Frequently Asked Questions, purchase items from the
Rogue Store, and how to get on the mailing list and newsgroup. Please review
the site fully because most of your questions will be answered.
Membership
Membership to the Rogue Owners Group has two
(2) requirements:
1. You must own a
Rogue.
2. You must be a
VROC member.
If you meet these requirements, please see our
Signup page
and fill out and submit the form. You can view the list of current members by
going to our Members page.

Group
Communication
You may chose a couple of options when
communicating with the ROG members. Regardless of which option you choose,
messages sent to one are reflected on the other and they remain in
synchronization at all times. So, choose which method suits you best.
Please be aware, like any mailing
list/newsgroup, you are responsible for what you say and how you say it.
Tempers often get flared and things may seem rowdy at times. But remember,
we're all interested in the same bike and we have a lot in common. Have a thick
skin and enjoy the comradery. If you have any problems, just email the
webmaster@RogueOwnersGroup.com.
Mailing List
ROG offers a mailing list. Everyone on the list
receives an email message when a member of the list sends an email to the list
email address. If you don't want to do this via email, then this list is NOT
for you. You should expect on some days to get 50 or more emails. Before you
can post and receive messages, you must subscribe to the list. Once you've
subscribed, post a message to let everyone know you're there. Otherwise, you'd
be a "lurker" and nobody wants to be a "lurker." You don't need to be a member
(loose definition) to be on the mailing list.
NOTICE: If an
email address becomes undeliverable for any reason, the administrator may
remove it from the list so that the email server won't become "bogged" down
trying to deliver to an invalid email address or send to an email address that
has a full inbox or some other error. If you haven't received an email for a
day or so, then you can try to join again or you can check the newsgroup
to see if you've missed any messages. Don't hesitate to contact the webmaster
if you have any problems. You won't be notified that your email address has
been removed since the failing email address is the only way we know how to
contact you.

Newsgroup
Newsgroup access to the Mailing Lists are found at
news://RogueOwnersGroup.com/local.VulcanOwners.Rogue.
If you prefer newsgroup access (NNTP) rather than the mailing list approach,
then you may post and read messages via the newsgroup rather than signing up on
the mailing list. The mailing lists and newsgroups are kept in synch so that
when you post a message on the newsgroup it will be sent to the mailing list
and vice versa. Newsgroup access is the preferred method for those that don't
want to receive an email for every posted message. Newsgroup access allows you
to view the messages via your newsgroup reader when you want to read and post.
Weekly Polls
We have weekly polls now so check them out and vote
if you haven't. Click here to check
out the polls. If you have problems viewing
this link because maybe you're not using Internet Explorer, try this
link instead.
Rogue Dyno Reports
Dyno reports allow you to see how much
horsepower and torque the bike puts out stock and with modifications such as
air kits, pipes, and fuel controllers. If you're interested in how these beasts
perform on the dyno, click here.
Rogue Bug List
If you have a
Rogue or you're considering one, then check
out the Rogue Bugs List.
This is a list of issues we have with the
Rogue and any fixes we may have. ROG members
are able to add and modify Rogue
bugs but everyone can view them.
Site Activity and Availability
The RogueOwnersGroup.com servers are monitored by an
outside service. Email, NNTP and HTTP services are monitored every 5 minutes.
