Thunder Manufacturing Dynos

Submitted by Bill "Oldman" Wilhelmi.

This was done in December. It's two dynos; pure stock and then stock pipes with Thunder tornado air kit and lightning fuel controller.

Cobra pipes. It's two dynos. One with stock air and one just open to the throttle bodies. This should be very close to same with a Tornado. They just didn't have time to do the Tornado/Lightning install and it was a Kawi/Cobra demo bike.

Notice the power curve compared to the others.

Thunder pipe with air kit vs stock pipes with air kit.

Conditions for the dyno run were terrible - 112degrees out - so that's why the stock pipe run is a tad below the December run.

The new Thunder pipe dyno'd last week is reported to turn out 114HP and 140 Torque.

Max HP: 108.5
Max Torque: 137.7
Performance Mods: V&H Powershots (without baffles), Thunder Tornado Air Kit (K&N filter), Power Commander III with custom map.

NOTE: The red line is with the performance mods before the custom map was made and the blue is after the custom map was made. The map initially installed was the Jay Leno map Thunder did. Even with that map, the HP/Torque numbers were better than with the Thunder Lightning controller.

Blue is the original posted dyno #'s, with PCIII, Thunder Air Kit, and drilled stock mufflers, but in STD, since that's what others are showing.

Red is with HK Stripper pipes instead of the stock drilled mufflers. Notice that although max power is down 7hp, torque is up from 1,700 rpm to 4,000 rpm. The bike feels great this way since we rarely use high rpm's on this kind of machine.
