Day2 E.S.
Well, before I get into the happenings of the second day, there are just a few things I forgot to mention about the first day. As we meet X in Memphis at the motel ( which nobody had ever heard of except HillBilly) X is told there are no more rooms. ( Blatent Lie ) We kinda marked it up to X getting the Scooter Trash Treatment) I'm sure it kinda pissed X off a bit, BUT, I took it as a compliment. X was just too much of a "BIKER"to be staying in such a nice place. We all called X "Scooter Trash"and they finally gave X a room when they found out he was with us...reluctantly. Strange enough, while X was probably discruntled over the scooter trash routine, I was discruntled that we obviously did'nt fit in to being classified as scooter trash. After ALL, We are just as much trash as X is ( except for HillBilly, but hes working on it:) Anyway, Just kinda thought it was funny how the same exact circumstance pissed off 3 different people for the exact opposite reasons:)
Humans: a Strange bunch.
We woke up early ( least Norm & I did ) and found this girl out checking our bikes

A little flirting and ALMOST had her talked into the "flash shot" Sorry Guys it was early and I wasn't on my game yet:) Norm & I settled for a big hug and I can attest to the fact they are real!
FINALLY, HillBilly and Goatman awaken after Norm & I already got a COLD ASS morning ride to the store & back. I think they said it was 42 degrees.
We all decide to stop by the Super 8 and see whats on the agenda of the Texas crew for the morning. Goatman & HillBilly are still in awe over the ride in from the night before riding in with X. We catch Fergy & Spock and all decide to get some breakfast at the Iron Horse Stables

A fantastic Breakfast, good laughs, wild stories of rides, lies, and the rusty omlette was the BEST omlette I've ever had. I think it was a 12 egg omlette with sausage, peppers, green chilis, onions, cheese, mushrooms and hashbrowns.
We met a few others there that ask if they could ride along and we were all happy that Fergy knew the routes.

Spock, Norm, Goatman, Fergy,HillBilly and myself all took out for a days ride ( we THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE A RIDE) along with two other brothers we had never met before. The TUMBLER glass of Blue Saphire, the Crown Royal, and all the beer from the night before decided to argue a bit with the Rusty omlette that morning, but it didn't last long after we got on the road:)
Fergy takes the lead, and in true Texas form within a minute or so hes outta site. I catch up with him, we wait and a few minutes, later the pack pulls in behind us. ( I kinda thought at that point, well the pace has been set so it will get better from here on out) No way. Fergy takes off this time not as far in out in front and I hear those nice sounding pipes of his start to crack, so I crack right along with him. Hes riding hard ( even though he won't admit it) and I'm at least not getting left behind like the rest of the pack. He still manges to get ahead of me ( but NOT OUTTA SITE ) and then 5 minutes later we both pull over to wait on the pack. After two or three times of this, I realize he doesn't want to lead a ride at all, he just wants to RUN.
See, where I come from in the hills, we have rides and we have runs.
Rides are nice enjoyable cruises that one can take in the scenery, the cruise and enjoy the commradery of your fellow brother bikers, with frequent pullovers for a little altitude adjustment and plenty of compliments for each others bike. Hell we've even been known to pull out a cold beer from the saddle bags. But thats just us. RUNS are just a flat out "get it" as fast as your nerve will let you.
We stop for the 3rd time and I tell Fergy, Ya know, if we run like this its just gonna be me & you, cause a lot of guys don't ride like we do" He just laughs an says O.K. At the next stop Fergy tells all just stay on the same road make no turns and we'll be waiting on you at the next road change.

We take off again and I stay with Fergy.... for about 4 minutes. My $5,000.00 Hi Def Camera is in my bags and the last HCR ride cost me a bundle from the fast speeds beating the crap out of my equipment. Couldn't afford that this time and to be quite honest that fucker just picked up the speed a little more after I decided to try to stay with him.
I remember hitting 108 ( on the speedo not the GPS) down one straight and looking up just in time to see Fergy's rear tire locked up after a downshift and him doing the squiggle routine to keep it straight. At that point, I decided to just hang back with the boys and enjoy the RIDE.
It was about 2 -3 sweepers later that we all came around the cornor and saw the huge 4 foot Black snake right in the middle of the road. It was about 3 turns after that that we all came to a section of road where the pavement had just stopped and it turned into a dirt gravel section of road with no pavement. I was happy I slowed down and we started taking more pictures.
So for all here to see & read Fergy is a faster rider than I am. I really hope he does slow down just a bit. I really kinda enjoyed his company when we weren't on the bikes. I would like to actually do a RIDE with him someday:)
More to come... market opened and I got to check my squiggles:)
Please check back more pics and news to come:)
